Putting New Bright's iRobot 710 Kobra to Work [Video]

By: Tim Gluth

Picking up toys has never been so much fun.

Every once and awhile you come across a radio-controlled machine that doesn’t quite fit the mold of being a typical car, truck, or aircraft. These “vehicles” require a new way to approach them and review them. One such machine is sitting in my R/C garage right now, the New Bright iRobot 710 Kobra.

I’ve found myself changing up my review routine for this device, focusing on tasks that utilize both it’s quad-track platform and functional arm and claw. The first thing that came to mind was beverage retrieval. Then, after gazing upon the wasteland of toys that littered the floor of my “office/lab”, I knew the 710 Kobra was meant for a greater purpose. It was time to pick up.

“Playroom Peril”

With this round of toy triage complete, I can focus on the next steps in my review of this fun R/C robot. Perhaps it will be used to retrieve a refreshing beverage or pick errant socks off the floor in my kids room. Whatever the use, I know I’ll have fun with the task.
