MCD Racing's XR5 Max Rally Car
It never fails. No matter what the size of the vehicle may be, there’s something about a rally or rallycross car that catches my eye. From the LaTrax Rally to the Dromida FPV Rally, these compact, high-performance cars have been a longtime favorite of mine, and have carved out a loyal following in the world of R/C.
For fans of large-scale radio-controlled machines, MCD Racing has a number of ⅕-scale vehicles which look amazing and are built to perform. Their latest creation is the XR5 Max Rallycross Factory Team, a car that’s as detailed on the inside as it is on the exterior.
Featuring four-wheel drive, this nitro-powered car includes many performance and competition-minded assets, including adjustable coil-over shocks, a tuned steel pipe, a durable chassis, and base, as well as numerous adjustment points.
Outside of those internal components, the body on this car features many nice 1:1 features and accessories, including spoilers, louvers, and molded windshield wipers.
While I wouldn’t recommend this model to an entry-level hobbyist, if you want to run large-scale, nitro-powered R/C vehicles, this model has just about everything you’d want (plus room to grow).
