Chatting with James Knight of Knight Customs on the Big Squid RC Podcast

By: Tim Gluth

Two of my hobbies, 3D printing and radio-controlled vehicles, fit together so perfectly that it's a treat when I get to chat about both things at the same time. On episode 10 of the Big Squid RC Podcast, I had an opportunity to speak with James Knight, the man behind Knight Customs. James has been a longtime R/C enthusiast and has put his professional training as an industrial designer to good use in developing an array of 3D printed and printable accessories and gear for a variety of radio-controlled models.

A fan of Tamiya, Axial, and other brands, James shared his thoughts on how he approaches his designs for each model, how he feels 3D printing has impacted the hobby and where it might go in the future. If you're a fan of R/C and the 3D printing boom, this is an episode you won't want to miss.
