If you’ve been looking to get a new R/C vehicle, you picked the right time to make the leap. All of the big names have been announcing amazing vehicles lately. From Axial’s Deadbolt SCX10, CRC SCX10, Falken G6 SCX10, and Yeti to Redcat Racing and their Terramoto-10 (and even a few smaller models from HPI sprinkled into the mix, not to mention the rash of retro re-releases that have hit shelves lately), there is no shortage of vehicles to choose from. But what if buggies, truggies, trucks, and crawlers aren’t your thing? What if you want scale realism in a relatively low-cost package? Well, Vaterra has you covered there.
Vaterra RC has been on a bit of a release-spree of their own this year. They’ve added not only off-road vehicles to their impressive lineup and have doubled-down with new on-road machines as well. If Axial has the Jeep enthusiast covered, then Vaterra is sure to please the GM loyalists with their Camaro and Corvette offerings. Adding to that list, they’ve just announced a 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51.
Running their now-typical V-100S chassis, the Corvette Stingray Z51 features all of the little details that we’ve come to expect from Vaterra’s models. Side mirrors, chrome exhaust tips and other realistic features are easy to see when you look this machine over from bumper-to-bumper. It rides on low-profile tires and is fitted with wheels modeled after what you’ll find on a 1:1 ‘Ray. Shaft-driven, it’s powered by a 540 brushed motor.
The electronics are water resistant and the included radio is 2.4ghz. The expected selling price is $289.99 and it’s expected for sale by mid-July. All-in-all, not too shabby for a new ‘Vette.
