Traxxas TRX-4 Mercedes-Benz G 500 Off-road Wagon
Things that make you go "hmmm...". When I think of off-road, trail-ready R/C models like the Axial SCX10 II or Traxxas TRX-4, I don't immediately think of chrome accents and lower-profile wheels. Still, that's what you get from the latest addition to the Traxxas TRX-4 lineup; the TRX-4 Mercedes-Benz G 500.
When this specific model was teased back in January 2019, I wasn't sure what to make of it. While the TRX-4 platform has proven itself to be a fully-capable offering for outdoor R/C thrillseekers, all of the previous models have had an element of ruggedness to them. That said, we all have different tastes, and the refined looks of the G 500 might appeal to those who want a level of refinement in their radio-controlled rig.
Under the body, this TRX-4 model delivers everything that you'd find in other "premium" TRX-4 models. A remote-select two-speed transmission, portal axles, remote locking differentials, and a 4-channel radio system with cruise control are among the highlights of this higher-end model.
Two solid body colors are available for this off-road wagon, blue and red. Each body includes chromed accents including grillework, a lower skid plate, side running boards, and exhaust tips. Additional scale details include 2.6" wheels and tires, body features including side mirrors, door handles, windshield wipers, and a roof visor.
