Transforming a stock, ready-to-run (RTR) R/C model into a custom creation has become one of my favorite aspects of the hobby. Aside from personalizing a vehicle to fit your style, you can oftentimes improve the performance and handling characteristics as well.

If you haven't yet experienced the thrill of customizing or building your own radio-controlled machine, Traxxas has started a how-to series which details their build of the "Ultimate Trail Truck" (with plenty of Traxxas upgrades, of course).
