Traxxas 4-Tec Drift RWD R/C Car

By: Tim Gluth

The R/C drift scene just got more exciting thanks to Traxxas and the introduction of the 4-Tec Drift Ford Mustang. By converting their 4-Tec on-road platform into a slideways-ready drift car, Traxxas is potentially shaking up the radio-controlled drift landscape for novices and pros alike.

The 4-Tec has plenty of miles on it as an on-road platform, but several features are worth pointing out for this drift version. For starters, this model uses a clipless body mounting system, making the removal and attachment of the Ford Mustang body as easy as possible. This car also features plenty of tunability thanks to the Bluetooth-enabled TQi radio and the Traxxas Link app.

The app has three customizable drift modes, letting those new to drifting take full advantage of the TSM Drift technology baked into this car. As your experience level rises, you can tune the car for more driver input and control.

The Traxxas 4-Tec Drift has a rear-wheel drive setup and offers a 60-degree steering angle. This model includes two tire compounds (hard and soft), so no matter where you choose to drift, you'll have the best performance possible.

Powered by a Titan Drift 21T brushed motor and XL5 ESC, this car can handle 6-7 cell NiMh or 2S LiPo batteries.

With its officially licensed Ford Mustang body, the 4-Tec Drift will turn heads. There are six color options to choose from (orange, green, white, blue, red, and black so that you can pick your ride out in a crowd.
