TLR 5IVE-B 1/5-scale Race Buggy Kit

Team Losi Racing is going big with their newest racing buggy, the 5IVE-B. This new gas-powered kit is a ⅕ scale vehicle that is based on the popular 8IGHT, this new larger-scale racer features an array of performance-minded enhancements that should put it at the front of the pack.

At the base of this buggy is an aluminum chassis plate that is both lightweight and durable. Continuing to keep overall weight to a minimum, there are a number of aluminum chassis components throughout the 5IVE-B such as shock towers as well as the clutch carrier and center differential case. The shock bodies are also made of hardened aluminum for weight reduction and durability.

The 5IVE-B body features a cab-forward design and the included wing utilizes a removable wicker bill for making fine-tuned aero adjustments while you’re at the track. The ability to keep your buggy under control while cornering is assisted by stamped-steel brake rotors and an overall heavy-duty braking system.

To finish this kit up, you’ll need to supply your own engine (26-29cc, gas-powered), 2-channel radio system, servos (3), battery pack for the receiver and transmitter, and tools.

Being a competition-minded buggy, the TLR 5IVE-B carries a price of $1,199.99 and will be available for purchase in early-August (2016). If you’re just starting out in the hobby, that price may be a little steep, but for a performance and competition-geared vehicle, it looks like you’re getting quite a machine for your investment.
