The World is Your Playground
Driving home from work the other day, I noticed a construction area on the side of the road. There were mounds of dirt, piles of gravel, equipment, building supplies, the usual. If you'd ask someone off the street what they saw when looking at it, they'd probably answer with "construction area". Ask an r/c hobbiest and you'd get a different answer entirely
From the moment I bought my Slash at the beginning of the year I've looked at the world differently. I found myself at a children's hospital on New Year's Day when one of my kids had gotten sick. As I walked around the building with my other son to keep him busy, we would walk through a lobby with gleaming tile flooring. My first thought when seeing this floor was "dang, this would rock with an r/c car". From that point on, I'd catch myself looking at the world differently.
Local parks became all-terrain playgrounds, cul de sacs became racecourses and straight-line speed tests, parking lots were a drifting paradise, arenas and convention centers became potential showcases for scale-model mayhem. The list goes on...
What are your favorite places to bash or race with your r/c vehicle (either conventional or not)?
