Taking Pro-Line's 1.9" BFGoodrich K02 A/T Tires for a Spin [Video]

By: Tim Gluth

For as long as I can remember, my go-to crawler tire upgrades have always been from Pro-Line Racing’s “XL” series. While these tires use a 1.9” inner diameter they are, as they say, large and in charge. Usually taller and wider than any set of stock, ready-to-run (RTR) tires, the XL series offers amazing traction performance that's hard to beat.

What if that same performance could be packaged into a slightly smaller (mainly narrower) tire that also offered a bit more in the way of "scale" appeal? Well folks, let me introduce you to Pro-Line's BFGoodrich K02 A/T Tires ($35.95). Although these tires aren't new by any stretch, they are a recent addition to my ever-growing tire collection...and I think I love them.

I've installed these tires on two Redcat Racing GEN8 Scout IIs and my Traxxas TRX-4 2021 Ford Bronco. Both of these crawlers had larger tires on them before this most recent swap, so I was looking forward to seeing how they compared in the performance arena. After some drive time with all three rigs I have to say, I'm very impressed.

Here's a short clip of one excursion with the TRX-4 Bronco and an array of logs, rock, and other natural obstacles. The TRX-4 by itself can cut through these items like a hot knife through butter, but adding these tires is like a cheat code.

If you're in the market for new crawler tires that also feature some scale appeal, I'd suggest checking out a set of these tires. Learn more about Pro-Line’s BFGoodrich K02 A/T tires at prolineracing.com.
