Tear up Turf with ARRMA's Updated Typhon 6S BLX Buggy

By: Tim Gluth

Continuing the rollout of updated 2019 models, ARRMA has made a few changes to their 1/8-scale Typhon 6S BLX speed buggy. Like their other 2019 updates, most of the new goodies of the Typhon resides under the hood. There are, of course, a few exceptions.

Diving into the electrical and mechanical changes first, the Typhon 6S BLX has been blessed with a number of "ease of use" features that are found on the other updated ARRMA models, including the sliding motor mount, a four-bolt differential, "never pop" ball ends, a "never loose" servo saver, and a Spektrum STX2 radio system.

Another new feature for this year is the use of Spektrum IC5 battery connectors, which are backward compatible with EC5 connectors. Even with those changes, the Typhon still retains its speed and performance prowess thanks to a BLX  2050kv brushless motor and BLX185 ESC, both capable of handling 6S LiPo Power.

On the outside, the Typhon has received slight updates to the wheels and body and has a redesigned wing and wing mounts which provide greater aerodynamics and durability.
