If you have a need for speed and a passion for scale detail, Tamiya’s upcoming on-road kit might be up your alley. Details have recently been released regarding their Subaru WRX STI kit that replicates the 24 Hours of Nurburgring racer.
Built on their TT-02 chassis, this kit should provide as much fun during the build process as it does while driving it. An included 540-size brushed motor serves as the power behind this on-road racer, providing steady performance to all four wheels.
Meanwhile, on the handling front, the Tamiya TT-02 Subaru WRX STI 24h includes four slick, on-road tires and adjustable friction shocks.
The visual styling of the body appears to be a true representation of the 1:1 Subaru WRX STI 24-hour racer. The molded polycarbonate body features all of the styling cues of the real-world vehicle and also includes details such as side rear-view mirrors and a decklid-mounted rear wing.
As far as kits go, this offering from Tamiya is quite complete. Many of the parts and components that you’ll need Are included in the box, save for a 2.4GHz 2 or 3-channel radio system (transmitter and receiver), batteries (vehicle and transmitter), and polycarbonate paint.
