Tamiya's Bugging Out: The RC Volkswagen Beetle Rally
It's been a while since I've written about Tamiya, especially new models from this classic R/C manufacturer. As luck would have it, I came across an image of a new model which they'll be releasing soon, their RC Volkswagen Beetle Rally (#58650).
The details on this specific model are sparse at the moment, however this radio-controlled car will be based on the MF-01X chassis, which has already been utilized on a number of Tamiya kits. For a better look at this chassis, here is a great overview of how it's set up, thanks to Matteo's RC Movies.
Back to the Beetle, based on the details provided, I'm not sure if this will be a kit or a ready-to-run (RTR) vehicle when it's finally released. Judging by the price and the list of required items (radio, batteries, charger, paint) I'd venture a guess that it will either be a well-rounded kit or a RTR machine.
Priced at $202.00, this should be a fun model for hobbyists of any speed to enjoy. Learn more about the Tamiya RC Volkswagen Beetle Rally at tamiyausa.com.
