Who’s ready for a slew of new models from Tamiya? This legendary R/C brand has taken the wraps off of an array of upcoming releases slated for early 2021. Whether you’re a fan of scale detail or funky fun, on-road sports cars or off-road explorers, this Springtime fleet is sure to have something for everyone.
For the off-road crowd, Tamiya is expanding its CC-02 lineup to include an updated 1/10-scale Mercedes-Benz Unimog 406 Series U900. For extreme terrain, the 1/10-scale Landfreeder Quadtrack (riding on the TT-02FT chassis) looks ready to handle just about anything you can dream up. If you’re a fan of military machines, the 1/35-scale Russian Medium Tank T-34 offers up a historical recreation blended with radio-controlled fun.
Lovers of scale detail and on-road R/C cars have a number of TT-02 models to look forward to in the 1/10-scale 2020 Ford GT Mk II and the 1998 Ford Escort Custom. The 1/14-scale Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4151 8×4 Tipper Truck offers a unique spin on scale detail with its utilitarian feel and European flair.
Finally, those who love classic Tamiya models will have plenty of re-releases to choose from, including the R/C Plasma Edge II (with an Iridescent Purple and Green finish), a blacked-out Grasshopper II, the 2014 R/C Fighting Buggy, the Thunder Dragon, and others. Tamiya’s “Comical” lineup is also getting another addition in the form of the Comical Hotshot.
