Take Flight with the FMS 1220mm Ranger EP V2
FMS has updated one of its entry-level R/C aircraft to make it easier to fly and more forgiving for first-time pilots. The FMS 1200mm Ranger EP V2 is a good option to consider if you're tempted to take the leap into radio-controlled flight.
Similar in style to the original 1220mm Ranger, this next-generation model is equipped with Reflex V3, which offers expanded connectivity and control options and allows you to make changes to your aircraft's handling on the fly rather than tethering it to a computer.
The nose landing gear has also been redesigned and offers a flexible shaft that should absorb the impact of a rough landing better than before. You also won't need much of a runway for this aircraft either, as the 1220mm Ranger EP V2 has 3m STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) functionality.
The plane's fuselage and wings are made of lightweight EPO foam but also durable enough to withstand some novice pilot growing pains. I've seen the smaller 850mm Ranger survive a top-down landing with little more than a few scuffs (and a broken propeller).
Of course, if you run into trouble during your maiden flight (or any after that), FMS offers an array of replacement and upgrade parts for all of their R/C airplane models. Available in three oclor options (yellow, green, and red), you should be able to spot this plane quite easily, no matter where you're flying.
The FMS 1220mm Ranger EP V2 with Reflex V3 is available as a plug-n-play (PNP) model and as a ready-to-run (RTR) model. Priced starting at $189.99, this entry-level aircraft is available for purchase at fmshobby.com.
