Super Size, Super Power: ARRMA Unveils the 1/5-scale Outcast 8S Stunt Truck
For the second week in a row, ARRMA has turned loose another monster R/C machine. Following the release of their Kraton EXB monster truck, is a super-sized, 1/5-scale version of their Outcast Stunt Truck.
The Outcast 8S BLX Stunt Truck looks like a bashing beast in every sense of the word. Taking its Outcast concept, previously available in 1/10 and 1/8-scale sizes, to massive fifth-scale dimensions, gives ARRMA the opportunity to pack even more power and performance into this popular R/C nameplate.
Turning up the size on this machine means that everything is bigger and in some cases bolder, than other Outcast models. The diffs, gears, wheels, tires, and shocks have all been designed to support the size, weight, and power that this truck is capable of producing. From the looks of it, you should be able to bash this machine quite hard without worrying too much about breakage.
As with other models in their lineup, the Outcast 8S features a number of durability assets including an aluminum chassis plate, beefy chassis braces (throughout the length of the chassis), a mix of aluminum and composite structural components, and an all-metal transmission.
To make maintenance and upgrades easier, this truck features a variety of quick-release/quick-removal components. As far as power is concerned, ARRMA has blessed this truck with a Spektrum Firma 160A ESC and 1250v brushless motor combo. This allows the truck to handle up to 8S LiPo power for maximum blasting fun.
If you're a fan of the Outcast's old-school pickup truck body, that same body style has been carried over to this model, featuring a beautiful red paint job. The body also has a series of components on it to help prolong its life, including roof rails and a roll cage.
