Axial's SCX10 III Base Camp is one of those "happy surprises" that you encounter from time to time in this hobby. While I gave it a lukewarm reception when it was announced in 2022, I've since had the opportunity to drive and own one, and all I can say is, "Wow"!
I did not expect excellent performance from an unassuming trail rig, but I greatly appreciated it. Plus, the platform offers plenty of opportunities to expand, letting you enhance the rig as your skills improve.
With its recent refresh, Axial has given this 1/10-scale rig more scale details, making it an enticing option for anyone looking to get into the scale, trail, or crawling aspect of the hobby. At its core, it retains the solid performance of its predecessor, which is an added bonus.
