Roll Your Own Monster Truck with Losi's LMT Roller Chassis

By: Tim Gluth

Hot on the heels of their LMT ready-to-run (RTR) monster truck release, Losi has unveiled a rolling chassis variant of its new 1/10-scale monster truck, the LMT Roller. If you want to build your own customized radio-controlled monster truck, this looks like a great foundation to start with.

Featuring a twin-plate chassis, flip-top cage, and solid axles, the LMT Roller aims to match the performance and handling characteristics of a 1:1 monster truck. The LMT RTR and LMT Roller are both built to bash and utilize 1/8-scale fluid differentials, an optional center differential spool, metal drive gears, and plenty of durability built into its chassis.

To turn this rolling chassis into a running machine, you'll need to provide a brushless motor, compatible ESC, radio system (transmitter and receiver), battery and charger, body, paint, and assembly tools.

Losi LMT Roller Monster Truck Chassis Specs:

  • Height: 11.8" (300 mm)
  • Length: 22" (559 mm)
  • Width: 15.4" (391 mm)
  • Wheelbase: 13.5" (342.9mm)
  • Assembly Time: 1 - 3 hours

The Losi LMT Roller is priced at $399.99 and will be available through Losi, Horizon Hobby, and their dealers. Visit horizonhobby.com to learn more about this 1/10-scale R/C monster truck rolling chassis.
