Race Into the Future with the XB4'18 from Team XRAY
It's never too early to get the scoop on the latest R/C gear, especially if you like to stay on the fast track, both literally and figuratively. For the radio-controlled racers out there, the team at XRAY has released details on their latest 1/10-scale electric buggy; the XB4'18.
Although it's a newly-announced, 2018 model, the XB4 platform has a rich history of performance, with drivers such as Martin Bayer, Ty Tessmann, Bruno Coelho, and Malin Karlsen having all wheeled it to top-level finishes.
XRAY has a flair for the spectacular, and their info page doesn't break from this trend. A seemingly endless scroller of information, there's no detail that you won't find, especially if you want to learn as much as you can about this new buggy model.
Among the many details are a few highlights that rise to the top. For starters, the chassis has an even lower center of gravity than previous models. Constructed from 7075 T6 aluminum, there are specific milling points throughout the chassis base to allow for lower component mounting and weight distribution.
Along with the chassis plate, the XB4'18 chassis side guards have been updated to sit as low as possible. These two pieces mount to either side of the chassis plate
Team XRAY has re-thought a number of other components as well, ranging from the shocks to the suspension arms. As competition kits are concerned, the XB4'18 appears to be a serious contender.
