A Winter (3D) Printer Project: Project IJ by RCMustDIY
It's no secret that I'm a fan of 3D printing, especially when you look at how it can be applied to the R/C hobby. From scale accessories and tools to complete functioning kits, there's no shortage of ways to combine these two hobbies into a virtual state of nirvana.
One of the most ambitious projects to be released this year is Project IJ by RCMustDIY. Available on YouMagine, this is a Jeep-like 3D-printable 1/10-scale body for a variety of popular R/C crawler platforms.
Initially released for the Vanquish Products VS4-10, you can now purchase conversion kits for additional models, including the Traxxas TRX-4, Axial's SCX10 II and SCX10 III, and more.
I recently purchased the files to print the SCX10 III Front Motor version, and I am looking forward to working on this build during the winter months. If you're interested in learning more about Project IJ, here's a breakdown of the base and add-on files that are available.
