Kyosho's Outlaw Rampage 1/10 R/C Trophy Truck

By: Tim Gluth

Kyosho has removed the mystery around their recently teased “2RSA” project, revealing a new, two-wheel drive pickup truck. I was off the mark a bit in guessing that it might be a scale/trail rig, but I take solace in learning that this new machine is a uniquely designed trophy truck. Taking aspects of 1:1 chassis design and marrying it to a scaled-down model, the new Outlaw Rampage 2RSAOutlaw Rampage 2RSA packs in plenty of options into a relatively small package.

Working from the ground up, the chassis features independent front suspension with a double wishbone setup that you’d find on an 1:1 trophy truck. The rear suspension features a solid-axle design connected to two trailing arms. The rear links feature two mounting positions on the chassis (inner or outer) and can be swapped based on your performance and handling needs.

A 15-turn brushed motor serves as the heartbeat for this truck, and should provide plenty of power for blasting over jumps and ripping around your yard. A 45-amp electronic speed control (ESC) provides a steady flow of power with an included 7.2v, 1800mah NiMh battery this truck’s juice.

The body on the Outlaw Rampage is a throwback to late 70’s/early 80’s truck design, with a "blocky", solid appearance. Two base body colors are available (white and blue) and each base color features a slightly different headlight style. The blue body uses a square headlight lens while the white body features round lenses. Both body styles are LED-ready, giving you the chance to add even more realism to your off-road adventures.
