Kaiju Unleashed: Redcat Racing’s Latest 1/8-scale Monster Truck
Going from teaser to full-reveal in no time flat, Redcat Racing has lifted the curtain on Kaiju, their 1/8-scale, brushless-powered, ready-to-run (RTR) monster truck.
Based on the teaser pic, I had a feeling that Redcat Racing was going to pack some power into this truck, and judging by the spec sheet...I was right. The Kaiju features a Hobbywing brushless motor/ESC combo that’s capable of handling up to 6S LiPo power.
While outright power is great, a vehicle has to be able to put it to good use. The Kaiju monster truck utilizes a three-differential setup, letting all of that power flow to the wheels and get this truck blasting over jumps and obstacles.
The battery tray is set up to allow for dual-2S or single 4S-6S battery packs, so there are more than a few ways to power this beast. Other chassis highlights include aluminum-bodied shocks (adjustable), heavy-duty steel CVA axles, and an adjustable wheelie bar to help you keep control while bashing.
Other vehicle highlights include pre-installed front and rear LEDs, a Hexfly 25kg high-torque steering servo, and tethered body clips.
