HPI Savage XL Flux R/C Monster Truck
Do you dig power? Then you’ll like this truck.
If you’re not sure what type of R/C vehicle to get your hands dirty with first, you can’t go wrong with a monster truck. These big, beefy machines can drive just about anywhere and are great for backyard bashing or taking to a local park for some controlled chaos.
For your larger-scale driving pleasure, HPI has rolled out the Savage XL Flux, a ⅛-scale, 4-wheel drive, electric, radio-controlled monster truck. Designed for fun and durability, this machine has expansion built into its DNA.

At its core, the Savage XL Flux uses the HPI Twin Vertical Plate (TVP) chassis design, sandwiching the internal components between two metal plates. Powering this monster truck is a 2200kv brushless motor which is mated to a 6S-capable electronic speed control (ESC). This ready-to-run (RTR) package doesn’t include batteries, so you can choose your favorite two (matching) LiPo packs (with Deans plugs) to bring this beast to life.
Big-bore, oil-filled shocks help dampen the bumps and jumps that the Savage XL Flux will encounter and can be mounted in a variety of positions on the shock towers.
If you’re a speed demon at heart, this truck can easily be tweaked to perform under high-speed conditions (through 3S LiPo batteries and on-road tires).
Price for the HPI Savage XL Flux is set at $729.99, making this a higher-priced option for R/C monster truck fans. Additional details and features on this model can be found at hpiracing.com.
