Horizon Hobby Cleared to Purchase Select Hobbico Assets

News broke a few weeks ago that Horizon Hobby had put in a bid to purchase assets of Hobbico. Since that time, a judge has approved the move, clearing the way for specific brands to be given a new lease on life, albeit under a new parent company.

After Hobbico's announcement that they had filed for Chapter 11 protection in January, I was hopeful that something good would come from this move. With their purchase of Great Planes, Tower Hobbies, Axial and ARRMA, it appears that at least some of Hobbico's main brands will live on.

At this point, I haven't heard any news regarding Revell, Dromida, or other Hobbico brands, aside from a temporary delay to an auction for those assets.
