Hobbywing Announces its XeRun AXE R2 Brushless Crawling Motor

By: Tim Gluth

I've recently made the jump to a brushless motor setup for one of my trail rigs and let me tell you, the difference is amazing. If you've been eyeing crawler-specific brushless systems for your own rig, Hobbywing has a new release that's worth checking out.

As a follow-up to their popular AXE motor, they've announced the second-generation of this system, the XeRun AXE R2. Featuring a number of improvements over the original, the AXE R2 motor has a number of refinements and enhancements over the original, making it even more of a force on the crawling and trail landscape.

Among the updates on the AXE R2 motor are a new, waterproof sensor port, a built-in high-precision magnetic encoder, and improved durability. The XeRun Axe R2 is available in four variations, three 540-size motors (1400kv, 2100kv, and 2800kv), and one 550-size (3300kv) for just about any trail truck or crawler application you can imagine.
