Hobbyists with Heart: Learn About the 2nd Annual "Autism Awareness R/C Crawl"

By: Tim Gluth

It's not about the cars, it's about the people. Since getting into this hobby only a handful of years ago, I quickly realized that the biggest draw for me wasn't the vehicles, but the individuals who build and care about them. Witnessing hobbyists use the R/C pastime to do good, if not great, things for causes they are connected with only adds to that appeal.

One group in particular, ASD Crawlers RC, has harnessed the power of these "tiny trucks" to raise awareness and education for autism. After launching their first Autism Awareness R/C Crawl in 2016, the event is back, in a big way, for 2017.

Taking place on Saturday, August 19 in Patterson, CA (Frank Raines OHV Park), this one-day crawl-a-thon features trails (4), hill climbs, and show & shine, raffles, prizes and more. No matter what your level of R/C crawling or trail-driving is, you're bound to find a pathway to enjoy, not to mention plenty of fellow hobbyists to enjoy it with.
