Dirt Track Demon: Traxxas Unveils the Slash Modified
Once again, my love for motorsports and R/C have merged in an amazing way. Traxxas has rolled out its latest evolution of the Slash platform, the Slash Modified.
Getting more mileage out of a chassis platform than one could ever imagine, the Slash Modified takes the time-and-track-tested Slash dirt track racing. With its wonderfully detailed, multi-piece polycarbonate body, the Modified looks just like a 1:1 dirt-slinging modified race car.
Featuring an open-wheel front end and enclosed rear fenders, the Modified captures the visual style and cues of modified dirt racing in 1/10-scale. A clipless/body post-less mounting system allows for easy attaching and removal of the body for access to the chassis and electronics.
Pushing the visual realism of this car even further, the Slash Modified rolls on replica Hoosier Angle Block tires that are pre-mounted/glued onto gray "steelie" style plastic wheels. Five color and graphics styles are available to choose from, each containing its own decals, including number sets for ultimate customization.
If you want to take your customization even further, Traxxas has made a vinyl wrap template available for download, so you can design and create your own truly custom scheme for your dirt machine.
Under the hood, the Slash Modified features a Pro Series Magnum 272R transmission, and is powered by the BL-2s motor (3300kv brushless) and ESC combo. Other chassis highlights include Traxxas Extreme Heavy Duty Components throughout and aluminum GTR shocks that allow for adjustability and tuning.
This ready-to-run (RTR) model also includes a Traxxas TQ 2.4GHz radio transmitter and requires a LiPo battery and battery charger.
