Conquering the Rocks with a Redcat GEN8 Scout II [Video]

By: Tim Gluth

When you find a great crawling spot, you can't wait to get back to it. One of my favorite crawling spots (to date) is a rock pile a few hours from where I live, but it's well worth the drive. Over the years, I've driven a handful of rigs across its uneven surfaces and have been chomping at the bit to have it challenge my Redcat Racing GEN8 Scout.

A recent weekend trip gave me the opportunity to do just that, and the experience didn't disappoint. Although lightly modified, my GEN8 made quick work of the rocks and scattered debris, thanks in part to the Pro-Line BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires and Pro-Line Big Bore Scaler Shocks. In all honesty, I think a box-stock GEN8 would have had no problem on these rocks, but I'm glad to have a few extra goodies to help me get over and around the tough and tumble terrain.

Here's hoping I can get back to this spot soon and bring another rig (or two) along for the journey.
