Check Out New Photos of the Traxxas Drag Slash Ahead of its May Release

By: Tim Gluth

Traxxas has unleashed a flood of new photos for its upcoming Drag Slash model release. While we still have a few weeks until all of the specs for this new 1/10-scale R/C dragster are revealed, these photos are a great appetizer ahead of the main course.

Clad in a 1967 Chevy C10 pickup truck body, this slammed street rod isn't shy when it comes to fine details. Keeping with Traxxas's recent tradition of highly detailed on-road and off-road R/C bodies, the Drag Slash's Chevrolet C10 pickup truck lid looks downright exquisite. From the molded front grille details to the large rear street eliminator-style spoiler, this truck should look right at home at your local R/C dragstrip.

Traxxas has opted to use a traditional body post and clip mounting system for the Drag Slash. You might have thought they'd change things up and use their "clipless" body mounting system (found on the 4-Tec 3.0), but they've stuck with the traditional route of body mounting for this 1/10-scale dragster. On one hand, it would be nice to see a totally clean, post-free body, but this does allow for aftermarket bodies to be used, which is always a plus.

While I'm used to seeing one or two color options available for a new-model launch, the Traxxas Drag Slash will feature six body colors; Redline, Green Machine, Midnight Black, Diamond White, Brilliant Blue, and Ultra Violet.

The visual goodies aren't only reserved for the body. The Drag Slash will feature replica Weld racing wheels that have been paired with replica Mickey Thompson drag slicks. Both the front and rear wheels have a gleaming black-chrome finish which pairs beautifully with the rest of the truck.
