Build Your Own R/C Drift Car with Redcat's RDS Builders Kit

By: Tim Gluth

Dropping two new product releases in one week isn't a major feat for the folks at Redcat. Days after announcing their RDS Competition Spec Drift Car, they've also announced something for the DIY drifter. That's right; if you prefer to build your own radio-controlled vehicles, you have the option of doing so with the RDS Builders Kit.

While ready-to-run (RTR) vehicles have been Redcat's bread and butter for years, they have offered a few kit options in the past. The RDS Builders Kit should set up aspiring R/C drift fanatics with a solid foundation on which to build a custom sideways slinger.

This kit features the same mix of carbon fiber, plastic, metal, and foam components found in the RTR version and all of the adjustability. To complete your RDS build, you'll need to supply your own body, radio system (transmitter & receiver), steering servo, ESC, motor, drift gyro, battery, and battery charger.

The RDS Builders Kit is priced at $239.99 and is available for purchase through Redcat and its dealers. Visit redcatracing.com to learn more about this 1/10-scale R/C drift car kit.
