An Unexpected Move: Horizon Hobby Has Acquired Pro-Line Racing

Shocked. Floored. Flabbergasted. Those are the three best words to describe my reaction to the news that Horizon Hobby had purchased Pro-Line Racing. As a mega-power in the world of R/C as well as other hobbies, Horizon Hobby has made some large acquisitions in recent years.

Their most-recent notable purchase was scooping up select assets and brands from Hobbico in 2018. In my mind, this ranks as a close second in terms of hobby impact.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Pro-Line, both for their products and their support of the hobby overall. Beyond that, they’ve been an incredible partner of mine and have given me a number of amazing opportunities. From that end, I’m excited to see what this means for both parties, but Pro-Line in particular.
