Lately, the Redcat Gen9 International Scout 800A has been my go-to for outdoor R/C adventuring, and with good reason. Redcat's successor to the Gen8 retains the solid performance of the original while adding a few new bells and whistles to make this a genuinely full-featured machine.
Not to say that the Gen8 was lacking, but it's been a few years since the Redcat crew has shown its crawler lineup much attention. With its new body, a redesigned portal axle setup, and a two-speed transmission, the Gen9 should be an excellent addition to any R/C enthusiast's collection.
