A Double-Dose of Scale R/C Adventure: UK Scale Nationals 2016 & RECON G6 UK Edition

Oh, how I wish I had a transporter or a vehicle with hyperdrive. There are fun R/C events that are taking place throughout the world, bringing folks together around one common passion. That’s a magical ideal that has to be witnessed first-hand. If you live in the UK (Bracken Rocks, Derbyshire) or have access to a very fast form of transport, there is not only one, but two great scale radio-control outdoor adventure events taking place this weekend (June 11 - 12, 2016).

On Saturday, June 11, the first-ever UK edition of the RECON G6 will be held, with the conductor of the “G-Train” himself, Brian Parker, in attendance. This event promises to bring as much fun and energy overseas as can be found at the RECON G6 events held in the United States. Along with the usual Daytime challenges, a unique night-time trail run has been scheduled, which is sure to throw more than a few curveballs to the drivers that are on hand.

The day after the G6 event wraps up, the 2016 UK Scale Nationals, hosted by RCCar.Zone, will take place at the same location. That event will combine technical, comp-based challenges as well as traditional trail runs. I have seen some photos posted by Peter Gray at RCCar.Zone, giving a preview of the awards that will be handed out to the Scale National champs, and they look amazing. A number of prizes have also been teased, so there will be plenty of fun to go around at both of these events.
