DIY Aluminum Link Guide [Video]

By: Tim Gluth

As mentioned in my "first impressions" post, one of the upgrades I'm planning for my SCX10 is to upgrade the plastic suspension links and steering links to aluminum. This will not only help the performance of the vehicle, but it will add a nice cosmetic touch as well.

Aluminum upgrade parts can be a bit pricey, depending on who and where you get them from. I'm going to try my hand at creating my own links using aluminum tubing, all-thread, and Traxxas Revo rod ends. After reading about this combination on a few forums, I found this video, by Dale McAmmond which provides a helpful step-by-step guide on the process. If you're looking to make the same upgrades to your vehicle, I suggest checking this out before you get going.
